I’m looking into coyote swapping my 97 gt and I was curious about what automatic transmissions would fit in the car and be able to handle the power. It’s a daily driver so an auto would be preferred but if I have to go with a 3650 or T56 then I’ll do that. If anyone knows anything, I’m all ears or eyes in this case. Thanks for any responses.

Take your pick, 4r, 6r, 10r... all fit but the 6 and 10 speeds will need some fabrication to fit properly and controllers.

The big question is how are you going to control the engine, electronically?

If you are using a Ford control pack, then get the one for the transmission you want. I haven’t seen anyone do a 10 speed swap yet, but I also haven’t looked. Plenty of folks run the 6r80 though.

I ran a 4r70w with my coyote but it was on a stand alone computer, I’ve since swapped it back to a t45.

There are Gen 3 / 10R80 capable control packs available so whichever direction you want to spend is covered.
