Ok, my cruise control isnt working again. Just wanted some starting points that I should look at before I start troubleshooting it myself. I never really use it since this is not my primary vehicle. but it just annoys me that it isnt working :dunno:. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

Mine just got fixed from messing up. I had a different reason than you do, I would assume though. My brake lights were not lighting up! There is a wire behing the pedal that can come undone. Like I said, mine was a freak ordeal though! It worked, it just would not 'turn off', I guess.

I would start with the obvious and easy to get to areas first. Not sure on the mustang, but check your brake light switch (you may have a seperate switch that deactivates the cruise control when you hit the brakes), also if you have a stick shift check the switch on the clutch pedal. Next make sure you don't have a vac leak, and finally check the cable going to the throttle body for the cruise control and make sure it is not binding.

Thats all I can think of right now, and good luck to you

not really, i can handle the cold, just redid the whole suspension while it was below freezing, what I do mind is the 4" of snow with 1/4" ice on top of it. that puts a damper on things.

But.... I will be damned! it was the cable on the throttle body. glad ya'll mentioned that. :thumb: i was about to tear the steering wheel apart to check the clockspring and switches again. :wall:

Thanks. :TY: :TY:

i havent even checked the price on a new cable... i dont think i wanna know. Depending on how it is maybe a little wire can fix it.

sorry, i should have been more specific, what I ment was that the cable had come off of the throttle body, the little gray piece that snaps in came off, must have been when i was checking the plug wires last week.
thanks though.
