You all know how ugly under our trunk lids are.

So I had this thin sheet diamond plate laying around and decided to make it fit under the trunk.

I have seen some that were wood wrapped in a trunk liner material. I've also seen that done with a running pony in the center. Looked sick.

made one out of wood/plexi myself, I have to agree the diamond plate is a bit much. If it matched something it would be better, but not sure where else in the car you want to put diamond plate.

thanks guys
I have a plan to cut some more pieces and glue them under the hood, and make some covers for the fuse box and battery. not to much though. but I have to find the real thin stuff first.
Maybe a big bar and pony emblem in the middle of the trunk would break it up some.

diamond plate to me just belongs on trucks honestly. Not sure if adding more pieces would help it or not.

I do think it's a bit out of place, but we all have our tastes. I think some accenting and stuff would definitely help it out. One thing's for sure, it looks tough!

I don't think adding more is going to do anything but make it look more gaudy, I don't think that's the kind of stuff you want as accents on your car. I'd either wrap it in carpet, paint it black or go another route.

I hope it doesn't rattle too. In the first pic you can see the double sided tape installed to the trunk. I didn't peel the blue backing off it yet. it's more of an insulator now though. I also split a piece of vacuum tube and slid it on the exposed edge all the way around. It is a bit flashy and that's the only thing on the car that bright, so it will probably be painted black.
