Custom tank or just a cover? I might have to steal that idea either way for mine.

It's a cover plate. Not sure if I want it just smooth or might add some forming to it. this is just the mach up. we stuck a spare tire in the trunk, battery in the passanger side back, building a new tank to fit better. will post up pix when done with it.

one thing I need to find is a remote oil filter kit. - haven't looked yet...
Ordered the radiator tonight and pedal mount for the brake. moving the booster offsets the piston rod point...

Seats and few other parts will be here by friday :laughing5:

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who knows that the technical name for the black box with all those lil colored thingies is actually "pluggy box thingie"

For a second there I thought I was all alone......... Lol

Totally man! it's a technical term. not everyone is up to speed on things like this.

I'm reeeeally looking forward to figuring out all the connections that go through it...

had a good full day in the garage yesterday

So, my dad and I are both 6-6.
We've raised up the dash in this car 1.5" and here we basically cut out the floor and tunnel to rework the seat mounts to allow the back of the seat to sit as low as possible and get them spaced to fit us, and to go with the new console. ;)

when you're tall and have to put your seat way back and lean back, you want the base to be tipped upward to support your legs. The pic above shows the angle we set the seat frame at. If the seat base is flat it makes your lower back sore, so we set the seat at a comfortable angle, as far back as we could get, it as low as it would go.

As it was, sitting on the stock floor, my head was touching the roof skin.
After we reworked it all, i can fit my fist between my head and roof,

proper ergonomic angle, head room and leg room. Check.

This is a cool view IMO:

Y30.jpg

Basically the back feet of the seat frame sits 3" below the sub frame tube (the tube stick up above floor level, below the seats just over 1" ... So I got the seat just over 2" lower than it was, and tweaked the seat mount to get another 1/2".

I had to notch the sub tube a little bit on the drivers side to clear the motors and linkage of the power seat. Passenger seat is manual, no motors.... fit great.

It was nice to be able to set the seat exactly where I wanted it, spaced just right for the console and all that.

Seat all the way back:
