It may be a bit tricky, but i'm sure it can be done. It'll probably need some bondo/filler to smooth it out, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

seems like if you weld you'll have a lottttt of sanding to do. let us know how it turns out!

i've seen people just buy plugs for the holes and paint them to patch the car. that way they're not there, and you can still throw a spoiler on sometime if you want.

If its done right sanding should not be too bad with welding and as they said that would be the best way. Painted plugs are just ghetto fab if you can't do it right don't do it....

i agree about the plugs the asshat that had the car before me pop riveted 2 of the holes and left to exposed and open so i put 2 vinyl plugs in them to keep the rain out

I can understand people putting them in there to try out fer a day or two but after you decide you like it then get it filled/painted.

When you weld the wholes up make sure you use a series of tack welds and alternate between all the holes to prevent the panel from overheating and warping.

i'm going to be tackling this sometime here soon. what i plan to do is epoxy some small pieces of sheet metal on the inside where the holes are and just filling the holes with a good non shrinking filler. like seam sealr or something. i am super scared to try and tack or spot these tiny ass little holes, lol.

even thinking about going around the license plate box area and filling that seem. might do the 3rd brake as well! and the badge hole. completely shave the trunk lid, w/o any welding??? we'll see

you don't have to weld it if youu don't want too tony you could just put some mesh behind the hole to give the filler something to grap onto.

your local autoparts store probably sells a small body hole/patch kit that could fill the hole. Like I said above it comes with a metal mesh that you put in the hole and then put the filler into the mesh. If your worried about shrinkage just let it cure for a day or two before you start to sand it down.

That would be cool with the license plate seams filled. Is that box area metal? It feels like fiberglass or plastic lol.
