Looking at a new rear differential cover. Has anyone any recommendations? Trying not to get suckered in by all the technical sales jargon but is there much of a heat dissipation difference between different covers? Oh and while I`m at it any recommendations in rear gear oil too?

I`ve been looking at this. Any info appreciated guys

they are all pretty much teh same with the exception of the fully billet aluminum ones.

the FRPP, steeda, trickflow, etc. etc. etc. all look exactly the same. it wouldnt surprise me if they are all made in china by the same prime contractor and they simply change teh name enscribed on the front of it.

i have a FRPP and its just like Mikey's Trick flow one.

i dont like mine, it leaks out the drain-plug all the time. this time i put thread sealer on it, so we shall see if that helps.

look into Fore, they have premium merchandise.

edit:

here's a pic of mine (sorta) its FRPP, you can see its pretty much identical to Javis saleen one...

BBK cover, they look the best and arent junk

Because the looks of your rear diff cover are super important but the style in which they support carrier or pinion bearing lubrication isnt?! As long as it looks good....

T/A 's always seem to get good reviews and the design is pretty good

Granatelli makes upr. So id imagine tfs and frpp are all made by same place. Also sct mafs are made by granatelli. Tfs, upr and pro prod 2v plenums are the same.

Covers themself do nothing but additional fluid capacity and in most cases a drain plug

Girdles however prevents side load bearing deflection

you could also get the new ford racing one that isn't a girdle but has fins on it for cooling. I think it was on buyfordracing.com for about $75 a while back.

I used to run GMS and it leaked like crazy. I had to have it surfaced and it almost stopped. so my $110 cover was like $200 by the time it was done. I liked my TA cover on my old Z. never leaked and good customer support when I lost a girdle support (the foot on the end of the stud) while doing a gear swap.
