There are no bearings in a factory distributor anywhere, so I'm not sure what everyone is talking about.

Pretty sure there is a top bushing on the shaft however. Ive seen ditsys start to chirp or squeek and its usually do to excessive wear. Pull the cap and check for play in the shaft. It would also be a good idea to take it apart and look for excessive wear/broken pieces. There is always the other part that connects to our distributor.... The oil pump...

I've had a dizzy start squeeling.
The play in the bushing got to be so bad the reluctor wheel hit and broke the PIP.

Where did you get this bushing from?

I had a distributor squeal too in my 94. The bushings dry out and get tight on the shaft and squeal.

On my 460 it never made a sound but it did get so tight it sheared the shaft in two!

I bought one of these for my 94 and couldn't be happier. It even uses all off the shelf parts.

And yes, it has bearings.

Just like in a motor, not all bearings are ball bearings. But I would refer to them as bushings.

SWEET. I have an extra dizzy with the worn out bushing and broken PIP. I just haven't had the time to tear it down to see if the bushing could be replaced or manufactured.
