do I need a tune up ?

i have noticed my car surging very lightly similar to driving a manuel and having it in to high a gear it feels kinda like it jumping does that just sound like it needs a tune up? its been a few years it seems to me like a spark plug prob what do you think

How old are your plug wires? My car was diong that last summer so I changed the plugs and wires. The old plug wires fell apart as I removed them...

Did you have the defroster on?
the cycling of the A/C comp can make the car feel like it's surging.
It could be the tune up too. Don't forget to clean the Maf

Its good to do a tune up on the car every few years or so. Change plugs, gap them properly, change wires (sometimes they crack and get moisture in them from being old), change the rotor, maybe the cap. It will cost you less than $100 but it will improve your gas mileage too. After the tune up on my GT (1 step colder plugs and ford racing wires with an MSD cap and rotor) I got about 4 MPG better and the car doesn't break up at WOT anymore and a lot smoother ride on the freeway. It was worth it for me.
