Yes, This is posting. This is about the same Old Fart's '96. I am out of parts so the main build is stuck and done as of today. I blew up a piston last Monday on the 14.7CR iron block. I got my 3V WAP engine back from my buddies and put the Trick Flow 38's and a new set of .570 lift cams from Bullet Cams so I got it up and running today and all is good so far??? I am back on the dyno on Wednesday so I will post numbers when I get back. I can tell a big difference between the WAP at 10.7CR and the iron block at 14.7CR

Sorry to hear about the piston. You say big difference, is it big difference good or bad? How’s the torque feel compared to the old setup?

Hot Rod Network had the answer.. I am losing 7.1% with the CR reduction but my pressure in the combustion goes from 1470 down to 1070 psi so that is the snap crackle pop you feel in the seat. Wednesday I will have new numbers to work with and then you can extrapolate upwards.

Just back from a morning run after letting it sit outside all night to get cold to see how bad the cold piston slap is. Ran a new 435/5.0/Mustang, He beat me but it took him a LONG time, we were even in 5th gear, and he pulled away in 6th. I'm going to guess I am at 315RWHP. Stay tuned...

No, the big cams just went in last Monday for 10 miles on the iron block at 14.7CR before I destroyed it. Now the big cams are in the Aluminum block with 10.7CR so I know I am down 25HP and lots of chamber pressure.

Oh. I forgot you ordered the cams. Did you notice a difference on the high compression engine when you put the cams in there?

Yes, I put the car with the iron block WtoP at 10:1 so around 350 RWHP. The Porsche I was running against has a 10:1 WtoP ratio and he could not gain on me.

Your power guess was really close! The car sounded real good in the video. Is it all turning real smooth?

The engine is smooth, and they did many pulls, but... this is the aluminum WAP block and it is much louder than the iron block. There is some ticking but I can not tell if it is lifter, injector or piston slap, it is loudest inside the car?

And for Will.. the timing is 20 degrees from idle to 5k and then ends at a total of 24.5. Timing started at 28 and every time we pulled out advance we gained more power.

How did you blow out a piston? The cams were to much for the block?

No, I was running 0-20 Mobile1 to clean out the remote oil cooler driving around slow and got caught up in a race with a Porsche Panamerica GTS. The oil was too thin to support the piston skirt pressure and it took out the cylinder wall.
