I came across a 99 cobra vert rear seat which is in characol black instead of the 94-98 color. How do i dye this sucker to match my black seats already in car. I was thinking Kiwi shoe dye but afraid it might turn the seat glossy shiny black which would be terrible!! Also what do i use to apply it to the seats?? So i need to get these two colors matching.
I've heard of leather dye problem is matching them will be tough unless you do front and rear I would think.
spray on dye will work but you need to prep them first. Rear seats are vinyl not leather. You can find how to videos on you tube but you will need to scuff up the surface a bit to get the new dye to adhere. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/MET-FV51/95-98-Mustang-Black-Vinyl-Interior-Paint
duplicolor vinyl/carpet flat black is a good match. if it's not as perfect as you like then just do the rear seats too.
