I was driving my car yesterday and my ebrake light came on, i checked to make sure it wasnt engaged and it's not. The only time the light goes off is when i turn the wheel to the left. Any ideas?

and if your brake fluid is low and you don't have a leak you might want to ck your brake pads for wear.

The low oil sensor drives me nuts too. All the useless stuff aggravates me.... If you check your fluids regularly (like a vehicle owner SHOULD), why do you need an idiot light? (Had to get that small rant out, now back to your regularly scheduled thread)

Yeah, I'll put my money on low fluid.

Idiot lights are for just that... idiots. (No offense intended for the original poster) Hell, if a driver doesn't notice knocking when their car is empty of oil, well, I'm not so sure the lights are going to help either. I can't tell you how often I see, smell, hear cars on their last legs and the people driving them being clueless while on their cell phone, doing their make up or eating fast food but don't notice their car screaming for help...

i agree with the fluid idea but it could also be the ebrake itself. It think it grounds itself when the brake is down so the lights not on or visa versa.

I've seen plenty of it around here too. Especially the ones with the screeching water pumps and the motors knocking. Water pumps is the most common though.....

nichedge, did you fix your problem yet?
