ok so the other day some how(not getting enough sleep due to new job) forgot to drop the ebrake all the way coming home from safeway and drove home(distance is a mile and half) noticed i could smell the brakes when i got out the car drove it drove fine brakes fine then this morning the ebrake light stayed on checked the fluid level really low now cant find any leaks anywhere is it possibe that it burnt up ? cant see any spots on the drive way or under the car where it might have brake fluid??? i drive in heavy commute times and the last thing i need is the brake to go out completely just changed the brake pads amonth ago also so i doubt they are used up from that it still brakes good cant tell any difference in braking

a great start to the day..that and i woke up an hour early cause my alarm clock jumped ahead an hour...think that was a good thing now.....

I would just top off the reservoir and monitor the levels in the following weeks.

I would jack up the car, grab a buddy, top of the fluid, and start pumping the brakes to check for leaks. If you can't find anything, monitor the level and keep looking for puddles.

The parking brake is engaged with a cable, not brake fluid. It really shouldn't have effected your actual brakes except for the pads that were engaged when you made the short drive.

Thats besides the point. As a fail safe, when the fluid in the resevoir is low the Parking Brake light illuminates wether the actual handle is pulled up or not.
