get the first eliminator on the page and then you'll need the 2 7/8" block off plate. many people say the eliminator doesnt work but i just did it two weeks ago and have no problems yet. looks pretty nice and clears up a LOT of room! it comes with a great gasket as well. the sight didnt look too promising but as soon as you order through pay pal, you'll get a confirmation email sent with a link for ups tracking. i was very suprised and got it in three days. as for the bung, when you take the egr off, take the cap thats either on the egr valve or the cap that goes over the bung on the stock headers and put a penny(i used two just to make sure there were no leaks) and put it inside the cap and use some locktite and tighten it down on the bung. you wont regret it

Removing EGR hurts fuel mileage, causes the car to run like crap, and has zero appreciable benefit. I tried that exact same eliminator and the car ran like crap and the check engine light stayed on.

like i said, others experiences have been different. have you ever thought that when you removed yours, something else could have caused your car to run like crap? i can see where it can hurt gas mileage, but come on, were driving mustangs for crying out loud, whats a couple MPG's going to hurt?

I have done it. My car idels fine gets the 18-21mpg w/4.10's in an auto. I use the eliminator and have no cel for the egr system. its on because of the smog system. I bought my eliminator off ebay

So to translate, that means he still has a check engine light.

he may have the CEL, but he states that it was on because of the *smog system* not from the EGR.

surely ill gain a couple horses goin from stock headers to bbk shorties and no egr, not to mention lighten her up a bit, when i take the egr off does that mean the smog pump goes as well? thanks!

you'll definitely feel a gain in the mid rpms. and as far as the CEl light, im not sure it will go off for the smog pump. but i suggest you do the smog pump delete. very easy and well worth it. it clears up even more space. especially if you have an aftermarket mid-pipe.

You can take the egr off without taking the smog system off. I have the CEL for the plugs in the back of the heads not being there anymore.Thermactor Plugs or somthing like that.

Your best bet in all reality is to have your car properly tuned if your dead set on eliminating your EGR function, there was a write up in the tech section on how to make your own resistor instead of buying the sensor.

i see, is the smog pump still bolted up? and having the tubes running to the mid pipe? if so then i would take it off. well worth it and very easy. just unbolt the top and bottom bolt of the remove the sway bar to drop it out and your done. next thing to do, is if your running a 5.0, then go buy a 6 rib 90.5" belt. fits perfect. mines been on for over two weeks and no wear or squeeking yet.

Im actually putting mine back on, the only reason i removed mine was because of my tube was so corroded, i was changing plugs and the wrench smacked the tube and cracked it. Ive gotten nothing but problems in all reality since ive removed it, so im dishing out the 50 or so bucks for a new tube. You wont gain anything other than eye candy.

A voice of reason.

Spending money for no appreciable benefit, while very likely making the car run worse is f'ing stupid.

Well the computer does have to be tuned to disable the EGR, otherwise I could see the car running worse and it will throw a CEL.

I just thought I might put in my 2 cents here. The EGR valve's main function is to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen, which it does by recirculating exhaust gas into the combustion chamber. The emissions aspect isn't all that important to most mustang owners. However, the recirculation of nonburnable exhaust gasses also causes a decrease in temperature inside the combustion chamber. The system is ONLY recirculating exhaust when cruising or under light load, which means combustion temperatures will be lower during cruising and light load. Since most street driving occurs under these conditions, not only will fuel mileage be improved, but the lower combustion chamber temperatures will likely make the engine last longer as well(compared to no EGR). Since EGR never operates near WOT when functioning properly, it has no affect on maximum performance. Seems like a win-win to me.

^ You are right, most people delete them on our cars for the simple fact of clean up. While that is a nice feature, we all know that the 94-95 had some very stupid design issues and we try to remedy that. Unfortunately most dont always look into the cons, only seeing the pros involved.

5L5SpdHardtop - trust me, I've made all these arguments before. People don't listen because they all know better.
