Just gonna dump what recent pics I have in here.

Holley screen and ECU mounted:

I trimmed my door panels to fit some Mach 460 speaker pods and took the opportunity to re-glue the vinyl that was peeling and get the ready to repaint.

For a while I had been on the fence about freshening up my interior and finally decided it was now or never. I found a car at a local wrecking yard and snagged just about everything except the dash seats and console from it. The carpet was in really good shape with no cuts or stains or heavily worn areas, but it was filthy. I must have gotten close to 5 pounds of sand out of it all together. Still not completely done cleaning the carpet, I want to make sure I’m completely satisfied with it before it goes back in.

While I have all of the rear trim out I decided to finally clean the back half of the interior which had never been cleaned since I got the car. Sorry no pics after cleaning it yet.

I’m almost ready to start putting all of the interior back in. I have three seat belt bolts that that were either stripped or broken off that I have to extract first then I’ll be good to go. I pulled the full set of seat belts from the donor car also, mine were so bleached from sitting in the sun that they were nearly bluish and looked terrible. I’m anxious to see it all back together with all of the freshly repainted trim and clean carpet. I’m also gonna put my leather front seats back in instead of the race seats. I miss the clean stock look. More pics to come as soon as I get started going back together with the interior.

Thanks man. My old interior was pretty solid other than everything being nuked by the sun for so long.

I can finally cross the interior off the list! After getting those stripped bolts taken care of, I spent some more time this week doing a final round of cleaning on the carpet and got it back in Thursday night. I made a trip to the wrecking yard yesterday to get the final pieces of trim I needed from the donor car, got them cleaned and repainted last night and was then able to continue putting the interior back together. I also took the opportunity to replace the rear deck speakers with some Pioneer 6x8’s while everything was apart.

I went a few rounds on the carpet. Best results came from draping it upside down on the arms of my lift and either beating it or using an air hose to blow sand out of it. I probably got another half pound out on top of the 5 or so that came out from washing it, just crazy how much sand it was holding. Vacuumed it one more time after all that, then shampooed and vacuumed again. Here it is ready to go back in.

Carpet in, e-brake bracket riveted back down, seat belt buckles reinstalled.

Rear floor mat cleaned and the ecu all connected and tucked in nicely.

I really like how stealthy it is having the Holley ecu mounted under the seat, highly suggest this mounting bracket to anyone doing a Terminator X or other Holley swap.

My old leather seats had been resting in my 93 F-150 since I replaced them with the racing seats from LMR. Pulled them, cleaned and conditioned them and swapped back to the mustang seat tracks.

It’s really hard to capture just how clean the interior is at the moment. Safe to say the cleanest it’s been since it was brand new. This thing was so disgusting when I bought it and I just never was satisfied with the shape of the interior…even clean it still just looked dirty.

Well not anymore. I love how good it looks in stock form now. Just clean and simple and kind of unassuming.

The interior make over made a huge difference . I swapped most mine aside from the carpet already . It’s rewarding feeling once you see the end result for sure . I need to order a new bracket to mount my ecu under the seat .

A mostly factory interior has always been something I've liked. I've been careful to not do anything weird with my interior over the years. Color-matching plastics is always a common one and something that has always come across as tacky to me.

Now carbon fiber replacement pieces are a different story, but I think that's largely due to the fact that I have an all-black interior. The carbon fiber pieces blend in better.

I had swapped my dash out years ago repainted the replacement so it's always bugged me that the dash looked brand new and the rest of the interior still looked 30 years old.

Agreed on the color matched plastics on the interior, seldom does it turn out in a way that actually compliments the car. I liked the looks of mine with the other seats and harness bar and stuff but if I'm gonna do all that again it would be with an MM rollbar and better seats with 5 point harnesses. Rebuilding my red truck made me really appreciate a nice clean stock interior.

I got these tail lights over a year ago, they actually came out of the same car I pulled the interior out of. I tried my hand at freshening them up but finally just took them to my buddy’s body shop and let him handle them.

The lights in the car are in pretty much the exact same condition except that the passenger light had a crack that had been there since before I bought the car.

They had never been removed either. Felt good to get rid of this little remaining bit of dirt and grime.
