Not much new with this thing, I tried to focus on getting a few things done on the mustang this summer and the truck fell to the back burner again. I'm gonna drop my spindles off with a friend tomorrow so he can press my ball joints out. Once I get them back I'm gonna clean them up in a blasting cabinet, give them back to have the new balljoints put in, then I'll paint them and put em back in the truck. In the mean time I've been curious since taking the leather cobra seats out of the car as to if they would fit in the truck without much modification. Surprisingly it was as simple as swapping the tracks from the truck seats onto the car seats. I got the driver seat done and will do the passenger side shortly. I'm on the fence but I think I like them, I just need to get the center console recovered eventually. Anyway here's a pic, what do you guys think?

Finally making some more progress here. Monday evening I got off work early so I decided to change my radius arm bushings when I got home. Wasn't too bad of a job, it just required me to drop the I-beam and radius arm out together. Bushings were shot!

I also took a grinder and brush to my calipers and got them cleaned up and ready for paint soon.

Tuesday evening I dropped my spindles back off to my buddy to have the new ball joints pressed in...he wound up getting them done pretty quickly so I got them back later that night. Today after work I hung them up in the shop and got busy putting a fresh coat of paint on them.

And here's a couple of pics after the first coat:

I may get them back in tomorrow or Friday. I need to buy two new hub/rotor assemblies and new bearings before I can finish the suspension up front, but I still have a few more parts to acquire for the mustang before I spend any money on the truck.

Got the spindles back in one day this week, forgot which exactly lol. I needed to do something with my brake shields/vents or whatever they're called before I put em back in so yesterday evening I went to a friends and sand blasted them then came back and painted them.

Also when I got off work yesterday I picked up new rotor/hub assemblies and bearings and seals for both sides. Put them in today, along with my shocks and springs.

I still haven't bought brake pads, and at this point that is all I need to finish everything up on the suspension and be done with it. For the time being I went ahead and swapped my Lightning wheels back onto the front end and put the stock wheels under the back, that way I could take the jackstands out from under the truck and see how it will all sit with the weight back on the front. I forgot to take a picture, but the springs definitely need to settle some. I'll try to get some more pictures tomorrow.

Geez I haven't updated this at all this year... Well, here goes......

Sometime back I got the bug again and started working. I can't remember what order everything happened, but I got the wiring harness back in, reinstalled the header panel, headlights and grill, and mounted my chin spoiler and fog lights in the bumper, still haven't wired them up just yet.

After all of that I stopped working on it again for a month or so. Then I finally took a trip to the wrecking yard and got a newer battery tray that wasn't rusted out, and an intake tube setup off a newer Mass Air equipped 5.0L F-150 to start on a custom cai setup I've been wanting to do.

Stock intake tubes:

Stock tubes installed:

New setup. The two tubes go into one, all I need is a filter.

And at this point I stopped messing with it, again.

A couple weeks ago I got an unbeatable deal on a set of 295/45/18 Hankook Ventus ST's that only had about 300 miles on them, so I snagged them and had em mounted on my other two lightning wheels and put em where they belong. Hard to take a good pic in the shop but I assure you all I will get some good ones when I get the truck out of here.

Also note that the bed is not bolted down and is off-center.

So this got the fire started again and back to work I went. Unfortunately I haven't taken any pictures of the work I've done the last week. I installed Autometer oil pressure and water temp gauges, wired in an electric fan controller, reinstalled the fender splash shields and mounted the fuse box on the driver side, painted and reinstalled my battery tray, and finished some vacuum line routing and wiring harness hiding that needed to be done. I ordered a set of brake pads that should be here tomorrow, and will be picking up a coolant overflow/washer fluid tank this evening after work. I still need to tighten the front bumper, as well as all of my front suspension, finish the front brakes, and put a hot battery back in and see if it will fire up. It's getting really close, the closest it's been in a very long time. I miss driving it and I'm so anxious to see it rolling on the Lightning wheels that I can hardly stand it lol.

Now this is a good update! lol
I thought you had forgotten about this thing. Im really glad to see you putting some work into it again. What is your projected date of driveableness?

Thanks man, I had almost forgotten about it. I was discussing buying an older F100 with my dad a few weeks ago and he brought up the fact that I needed to finish this one up before I start on anything else, which he was right about lol. So I've been chipping away at it some. As far as it being driveable, I really don't wanna put a date on it just yet. First step once most of it is finished up will be to make sure it will fire and run with no complications, since I deleted quite a few things...tab/tad solenoids, egr, and all of the other emissions junk, most of which was already gone. If everything goes right at that point I think I should be good to go. It's still insured but I'll have to put license on it again. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll be a lot closer to my goal. Finding those rear tires was the biggest push I've had to finish it in quite a while.

I didnt mean actually driving it to work or anything. I was more less talking about test driving it, around the block or something.

That's kinda what I was talking about lol. I'd say if everything goes right, and I actually have time to work on it and my job doesn't interfere maybe by next week sometime.

It's also a b¡tch to get it in and out of my shop due to the close quarters in my back yard....so once I get it out of the shop I'd like to not have to fight it back in there again for a while.

Messed with it for a few minutes late last night. I got a new overflow reservoir/washer fluid tank, and installed it along with the support bracket for it. I also picked up a K&N filter my friend had in his shop that he gave me, it was a little big but I was determined to use it. So I changed up my previous home made intake tubing. It's not complete yet, but this is what I have so far.

Anyone recognize that intake tube?? Lol
Like I said it's just mocked up for right now, may change a little in the next couple days but I think I like it.

And here's a pic of the passenger side wiring harness tucked out of the way.

I'll have to look back and see if I have a before picture for reference, but those who have ever owned this model truck know how messy the passenger side is especially with the starter solenoid, which I also plan to do as nearly as possible.

Brake pads should be in this evening so I plan on doing some more work tonight.

I'm sure you've already said it, but what's your plan for power? I know those sixes are torquey as shit, but are you gonna slap a turbo on it or anything?

Man I honestly have no clue at all, there's so many different directions I could go with it. A turbo on the straight six would be awesome, but the only thing holding me back from that is that the truck is speed density and I'm not sure if I wanna spend the time converting it to Mass Air...I've seen some SD trucks turbo'd but it took a lot of effort and I think most eventually swapped to mass air in the end.

Then there's option B: put the 302 from the car in the truck after I put the 347 in the car. Pretty easily doable but it's just not really appealing unless maybe it was boosted. I've been thinking more lately that if I'm gonna take the time to swap to a different engine, it really should be something that stands out...so who knows what I'll ever do with it.

Thank you man, thanks for checking it out!

Whooooooooooo boy lol.

I've had this picture saved on my phone for a while now, just stumbled across it one day.

Now that^ would be awesome!

But youll have more than 10 grand in that setup! The 521ci is the economical way to go so I think you should do it.

The KB coyote would be pretty cool though.
