Ok, so some jackass is blocking the inside lane as im merging.. so I punch it.... everytime I get into the motor I can hear this spitting/ sputtering sound under hard acceleration? Fuel injectors? That and when my car shifts (auto) only under hard acceleration I get a big sreach sound when It shifts. Its a 96 Gt with close to 160K origianl everything minus a few bolt ons but stock tranny and all. Its old I know but well taken care of..... work your majic fells

haha dont really know what the spitting/sputtering could be..but do all the normal maintenance and see if that helps.

I know my auto does the the screech thing when it shifts. I thought it was normal :dunno:

I believe its just the pressure being released or something along those lines

Mine only does it when im on it hard and it shifts hard.

I had the sputtering problem with my 97. I changed the front O2 sensors and problem gone. Someone else suggested that a dirty MAF sensor could also cause that problem. Bosch O2 part # is 13127. same number for both sides.

the sqweel when you shift is the belt slipping when the rpms change. Changed my belt to a gaterback and new idler pulley and problem fixed. On the sputter, clean the maf, iac, clean filter, new wires and plugs... thats all i can think

O and also, where are you in Charlotte, I'm here at UNCC

Your transmissions shouldn't be squeeling. Is this squeel accompanied by a flutter or slight vibration?

who knows...what would that mean if there was a flutter anyways?

Something squeels if I get on it in first than let off when its about to shift into second but theres still a lot of pressure built up when it shifts.

It would mean your torque converter is pooping in your transmission.

If it's the belt it's the belt, you would feel a flutter (I would think) if it was the TC.

If it was the TC though, you could fix it as cheap as you are willing to pay for a new torque converter and trans flush. And it is indeed bad.
