I got a sapphire blue 94 Mustang gt 5 speed. It has a B-303 cam and 3.73 gears and thats it. Got alot of suspension work got lowering springs, shocks, C/C plates, sub frame connectors, and some other stuff . I keep hearing about gt-40 heads and Intake is that a good choice to start with?? Im looking to change out the intake manifold and heads not anything special just something to get a nice hp increase.

not a bad choice. There are better heads and intake for power im sure but you can find these parts pretty reasonable and they should go on without too much trouble.

I had a set of AFR165 heads, stock Cobra intake and FTI camshaft on my old 306, and was very impressed. Very fun street car. I had a set of aluminum GT40 heads for a while (never actually used them), and was not at all impressed with the casting quality -- Much better can be had for the money. The TFS heads are probably the best bang-for-the-buck.

Is the cobra intake manifold a good overall intake?? I see alot of people swapping over to that Intake

Yes especially one with the lower ported. The gt40 intake looks better but flows the same and double the price. But they do stand out from all the other intakes (minus the Roush intake [rare and $$$$]). I especially like the cobra cause it already has the built in egr/elbow.

$200 for an upper/lower 94/95 cobra intake is a steal assuming nothing is wrong with it (broken ears/cross threaded bolt holes). B cams are o.k but I prefer more "up to date" technology, the letter cams were designed a while ago and normally aren't 94/95 friendly.

The Cobra/GT40 intakes are good intakes for street cars. They are more for low-end torque than high end power, which is great for street cars. My plan for awhile was AFR165s, Cobra intake with ported lower, and a custom cam. I might end up going with a Trickflow H/C/I package just because its matched, has everytihng I need, and is a good package overall. I wouldnt worry too much with a CAI. They're mostly for looks than anything else. Just get a drop-in K&N filter.

Edelbrock should also be a serous contender, they are quality heads and flow well.
Man i love the way that gt-40 intake manifold look
As do I but remember the fox intake require 94/95 owners to buy the elbow to work with our TB's (adds to the cost), while the 94/95 cobra has it built into the cast. You can convert over to the fox tb set up however. I'm sure one day I will end up with a gt40 upper to go with a ported lower I have waiting lol.

1st off it all depends on your budget ? The Cobra intake is at LateModel restoration for $359 new and is good to about 360 h.p. you could find a set of GT heads used at a good price but the 303 not such a great cam... If it were me I'd just step up to the TrickFlow at $479. and go with their heads and cam a little at a time.

Im willing to spend at most $1500 on heads whats the best flowing heads for that much?? Once i decide what heads and intake to get im get rid of that b-303 cam anyway. I guess my goal would be 300rwhp since thats what i was trying to do with my 4.6

I'd go check Anderson FordMotorsport, they have a bunch of kits just for what you are trying to achieve... "Google"

Damn one of them kits for $2400 dyno at 321rwhp thats pretty impressive

It says it for 89-93 it still will fit on a 95 thought right since the same motor??

I think i could piece it together cheaper too.
