Yup I believe so... Nitrous might be an option for later, I'm still tryin to decide what I'm doing motor wise to this car... If i'm building the six or swapping an 8, or if i'm selling it and buyin a 96-98 cobra

If you are going to drag race, get a GT or a Cobra. You'll be glad you did! :eek:ccasion14:

I don't think I could get rid of this car, to much sentimental value to sell it... But I've been thinking about either a 5.0 swap (cheap and reletively easy) or a 4v swap (gotta save the money for that lol)

there are a ton of Lincoln Mark 8's at U-Pull-N-Pay near Taft that have 4V's for cheap

if you swap, i'd do a 4.6

my friend Robert (not sure if you konw him) did a 5.0 swap in his 96 and had to rewire damn near the whole car cause of all the wiring differences.

he said his horn would honk when he hit the window buttons lol

Damn I didn't know you had to rewire that much with the 5.0 swap, I guess the obd 1 and obd 2 difference probably doesn't help.

i think there was a way to keep OBD2 by using a Explorer computer since those had OBD2 5.0's

Zacksav had a 96 V6 with a 5.0 and it was OBD2 compliant

That would probably make a bit more work to swap an explorer motor, unless the mounts are the same as the Mustang.

If you're serious about this I wouldn't spend any money building the 6, get a V8 in there.
I'm not to serious about it right now, pretty much just running the six for fun. Eventually this car will have a v8, whether it be a 4v, a 2v, or a 5.0.

the explorer and mustang 5.0 are the same basic engine, same mounts. (i believe Explorers have GT40 or GT40P heads and mustangs have E7 heads, i dont know much about the 5.0)

the computers are different.

all you have to know is that the 5.0 is better then the 4.6. And the 5.8 is better then both
