lol no one liked my cougar...i loved that thing...and you guys, id love to own a mustnag but its just not doable for me...all my kids,if the wife car breaks down she has to use mine so it has to be able to haul a family..And this is a little step up from the cougar with all its features...And no offense id love a mustang as a 2nd driver but a mustang doesnt have electronic adjustable suspension and a hump worthy back seat...and white95, heres a hint....its BIRGHT green...and my rims arnt dipped, i stripped the already stripping chrome off of them and layered the sht out of them with matte black rim paint..

If you can't get a Mustang because you have too many kids, then maybe you should stop looking for a car with a backseat to hump in. LoL.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that is the best thing that I have read all day! Not a bad car. Rather curious why the first owner swapped out the supercharged v6 for a 2v engine from a crown vic. One thing though, you need to lower it with those rims, or find a nice set of Cobra R wheels that are larger......damn thing looks like you are about to take it offroading.

I like the Tbird way better then the Cougar. Tbirds can be kind of bad ass if you want them to be. They can run all the same engine combo's as us and they are IRS aren't they?

I remember Johnny Langton was spanking Mustangs in his NPI Tbird. Many of the first PI parts swapped to NPI cars were done on his car and KDanner from TCCOA.

irs with adjustable ride controll...and i got ambitious today so i went to the junkyard and grabbed a fuel rail from a crown vic and searched for a throttlecable from a 4.6 96-97 cougar or Tbird but couldnt find one...i started my PI intake swap...Put everything backtogether and test fired it after the rtv dried only to find the gaskets were junk( i tried using them on my cougar that bit the dust and hoped they were still good) and i forgot to hook up a rear vauum hose ,lol thats why my signature is what it is...but i found both problrems and am just waiting for new gaskets to arrive and ille go to another junkyard tomorrow...i repinned my mafs so its not oval anymore like the 5.0's but now is the square one, had to extend my TPS wires and another SHOT AT TCCOA.COM assholes said on sticky posts too, need to change ur coolant valley tube FALSE, hood FALSE and mentiond nothing about the wires you need to extend, what a bunch of noobs..much easier with no egr or egr tube in the way i must say...and the other day i also fixed my exhaust leaks so now i smell dirty lake michigan while i drive not exhaust fumes.Wasnt good having a hole in the fire wall from an absent clutch pedal and a bad exhuats leak where the headers met the pipes..

and yes my front tires are too small,i was trying to bring back that 90's thing with the little tiny sticking out wheels..lol

and the previous owner of the car( who is a pretty cool guy, honest too) swapped in the eng and trans...i asked him why and if i remeber correctly the v6 had a shot engine and i he had a slightly built 4r70 so he put that in, and the engine im shur was put in for cost factors..fords workhouse ! but this engine is shitty, not mine but all these years 4.6's..prone to valves not seating propperly, springs that cant even handle pi cams , and an intake that takes air in the rear then down under and on over befor it gets into the individual cyls..and dont even need to mention that skimpy violin intake WOW..what a horrible desing someone came up with WTF were they not thinking of..

Um Frank.....I believe that the intake ports in the NPI heads are diferent than the intake ports on the PI heads for location.......might be why you have a vac leak everything you install the gaskets...they are not aligning right, even if you alter the gaskets.

Nightmare: its called a Pi intake swap...its easly done..alot of write ups for crownvics Tbirds cougars and mustang...any sohc npi 4.6 can be PI swapped...some are just harder than others due to locations of stuff..my luck, i have one of the hardest todo the swap on..and on my engine a Pi maniswap alone is good for 15hp...so its worth it..plus im throwing on a ported typhoon manifold with egr delete and stuff as well as an 80mm mafs and 2002 gt intake tube..so i should get a good atleast 17 hp im hoping..aand i had a vac leak because i didnt hook up one of my rear brakebooster hoses AND its ran hard because lol i didnt plug in my drivers side coil packs...so for all i know the gaskets may have been good..bjut new ones never hurt plus they were free thanks to warranty..gotta love autozone

Your saying it was running "rough" with the brake booster not hooked up (even though it still idles fine without the hose connected) and a coil disconnected. If this was the case your car would barely run at all, why would you buy a car that had so much disconnected? Sounds like to me your in for a long ride because you just bought another headache.
Atleast you knew what was wrong with your Cougar. This car you don't know jack shit about, you bought someone else's headache, good luck bud.

I know what it is called and what is involved. What I was saying involves the gaskets needed to do the swap right. Livernois motorsports offers a full kit with their pi intake. It comes with adaptor plates because of the slight difference between the ports of the pi intake and the npi heads, but since yours were already ported and drilled, I am sure you knew this. Well I hope. (Information to back this up can be found on WWW.corral.net)
