Long story short my 96 Daily Rides like a Caddy and im over it, the new 05 Wheels with the wider tires was a great improvement but now its time to tighten up the suspension.

Today i got to talking with a buddy about changing out the springs and Shock/Struts etc to get ride of that Caddy feel and he just happen to have a set of used KYB GR2 front struts in good shape and a set of Steeda full comp front lowering springs. I did some research and found that the springs are rated at 850-1050Lbs, Any one else running a similar spring rate every day in there daily driven car and how does it ride i figured i would get some opinions of a spring of this kind for day to day driving before i go about installing them.

From the looks of things ill also be picking up a set of KYB GR2 Rear Shocks and im on the look out for a cheap set of Rear lowering springs.

i had a fox body that i had Suspension Techniques lowering springs in with 875lb front springs and it rode like a brick but cornered like it was on rails.. you will feel every crack in the road. just depends on what you're going for.

Yea i figured, my Black car used to ride like it was on bricks and for the most part did not bother me because it handled great lol but i don't think they were a 800+ lb spring. The Roads i normally travel Suck it might just be Florida in general but i hit **** on the highway sometimes with the stock suspension and it feels like the dash is going to jump out of the car, lol

Im going for CHEAP lol so these might be the best bet being they were free, I have a total of $1100 invested in this car including the price i paid for the actual car, and have had it just over 2 Years, So if it blew up tomorrow i could care less i don't want to sink money into it :nono:

What size spacers did you use when You installed your 05 Wheels?

A full comp spring will def not feel like a caddy anymore, that's for sure.

Spacers are not Necessary to run the 05+ Wheels but for "Looks" i run a .25" slip on spacer up front and a 1.25"" Bolt on rear spacer, And yea it should be a world of difference... Hopefully this next weekend ill have time to put the stuff up front and maybe between now and then i can get the shocks and some springs for the rear end...

Well, i know spacers aren't "required" to run the '05 wheels, but it certainly looks better. The 1.25" rear spacers must bring the wheels out to approx the OEM location, correct? just curious.

No a little further out then oem, They sit almost as nice as the 10.5s do on my Black car.

Only shot i have of it, Once i drop it ill get some better pics of it...

I put the 2000 GT wheels on my black car today and they sit further under the car then they do on my V6, (here is a pic i took today)

875lb/in are way more spring than the GR2s are made for. They may be able to be used without leaking, but I would not expect much dampening to happen. If you decide you don't want those 875lb/in, I have a set of Mach springs. :D Just saying...
