I was wondering first off how big our gas tank is and how much you get on a tank with 3.73's. I have 4.10s and get exactly 200. This gas mileage is killing me and i need to knw if its worth it to move down to 3.73s. Thanks!

I've gotten just over 300 miles per tank before with my stock 3.27's on a 50/50 highway city driving. You will actually get better city mileage with 4.10s so I'm guessing you are doing mainly highway driving. Also, taking short trips KILLS mileage.

Some, 96-98's came with 3.27's stock.. I think it was a factory option...not too sure.. I do know mine came with them stock..

Oh, and I HATE the 3.73's and wish I would have gone with 4.30's.. and if you're really concerned with gas mileage, then you shouldn't have bought a mustang with the intention on adding performance parts to it.

I usually get more than 200 miles per tank with 3.73s. I average about 17 mpg with a lot of highway driving. I think i get like 250 miles to a tank if I remember correctly

well, my 98 came with the 3.27's with the 4r70w trans... mixed driving i usually get around 22/24 miles to the gallon, 31 if i do strait highway at 65. So on average i see about 330/350 miles to a tank.

I'm moving up to 4.10s soon when i do the 5 speed swap.

Maybe its your driving style? I know my friend that has a 98 cobra "which gets worse gas milage anyway" has a t56 and 4.56 gears. The t56 has a .62 6th gear i think and the t45 has a .67 5th so its not that much difference. Anyway, he shifts early to keep the revs down adn he does highway at 65 and get 25/26 mpg with 4.56's. So it just may be the driving conditions and style... do you drive up hill alot?
