they are most commonly used on diesel, they are used to measure exhaust temps... i wasnt sure how applicable they were on gas engines... .. .

Yours has a plug in it for a mechanical oil presure gage. It is next to the stock sending unit. Unless you are running a turbo a pyrometer is not neccesary. I would go with a mechanical temp gage.
a mechanical oil temp, or a mechanical coolant temp gauge?

hmmmmm... i dont want a blown headgasket...
and im going to do a little more research on gauges... seems like oil temp is a good choice.. ;-) lol.
