ill be doing long tubes on both motors soon so i can give you one then. might be a month or two though. id like to see a walk through though too, even though i dont think ill need one cause the motors will be out of the cars.

Yeah i would be doing it inside the car lol I know you would have to lift the engine or remove the kmember to do this but i'm not sure how to do either.

how much would you pay for these hooker super comp ceramic headers? they are close to 800 new and he wants 350. are those dents supposed to be on there or are they to clear things?

Move everything that is valuable outta the garage. This is for when you get so pissed you start throwing shit and breaking shit.

That's a good tip right there. Also, have ten million various length extensions and swivels.

Well im not sure for long tubes but when i did my shorties it was not exactly fun. I would think it might be easier to put long tubes in from the bottom. So You may want to lift the motor some by unbolting the motor mounts and lifting it up and sliding the header in from the bottom. Im not exactly sure since you are a 4.6 though thats just somethin to try maybe. As far as if the dent is supposed to be there im guessing your talking about the dent near the top of the tube near the flange and i do not believe that should be there looks like it was hitting the k memeber or something and got dented.

putting on my shorties was simple. they slid right in. but i have a 5.0.

when i put longtubes on my 69, i put them on from underneath. It wasnt really to hard. a little maneuvering is all it takes.

On a mod motor car, it's that hard. You can't fit your hand between the valve cover and the shock tower.

They have to go from underneath, and the motor has to go up, or the K has to come down, your choice.

I got a guy on stl mustangs tell me that he used 2 jacks with 2 pieces of wood on top of them and jacked the motor up, after removing motor mounts, and that they slid right in and he had plenty of room uptop to bolt them in, he offered to help if I needed it too so I might take him up on that.

but the thing is is that I still need to know what I should use to put them on. should I use studs and then nuts or just use bolts? the headers don't come with them.

yeah the ONLY way they go in is from the bottom. and like mitchell said, jack up the motor is what i would do.

okay. using bolts. now just need to know what size bolts to use on those headers. I'm wanting to get them up at the local parts store.

You have to support the motor and drop the K-Member.... Then install the LT's. Then re-install k-member....Its a F*cking PITA.

And you can lower your car because you will scrape.... and you will have a PITA time changing your clutch also.
