My Pacific green car has its trim pieces with a gold tint applied, that being the grill pony, 4.6 fender emblems and trunk mounted ford oval.. Does anyone know is this a specific optional package or did all the 96 cars have this. I got the Marti report and it doesn't mention it.. Just curious.. I put the gold lettering on the rear bumper cover, had that left over from a 98 coupe I purchased in 20 during covid...!!! Glad I still had the extra set around anywayIMG_20250807_155925942_HDR.jpg

I can for sure tell you that gold was not standard on these cars. I am not sure if they were an option or aftermarket though. Looks pretty good on the darker colors though, wouldn’t mind gold trim on my deep forest green

Where else is it gold on the car? Just the mustang text on the bumper?

there was a time in the 90s when it was popular to get emblems plated. Dealerships normally were the ones that did it but it was not a dealer option from ford, just from that dealer.

I applied the lettering on the bumper, the rest of the trim has a gold tint, front grill pony, fender mounted 4.6gt emblems and ford oval on the trunk...

Pretty sure the last owner bought gold emblems.
There were not and gold options in the SN95, unless it was a "dealer package" or something similar as mentioned above.

Should be easy enough to find out. You said you have the Martti Report? Call the dealership the car was purchased at, if they are still around, and ask if they ever offered it.

I honestly have only seen SN95s, both roundbody and new edge, with gold emblems on the dealer lots. Even back then, it was pretty rare to see.

I don’t recall seeing any reproduction gold emblems, and back then, internet shopping was super rare, and difficult even if attempted. Even old magazines like “modified mustangs and fast fords” didn’t seem to have any ads selling such emblems that I recall of.

Would be a good place to start investing indeed. I know that where I live, the dealer in Lewisville Texas, Five Star Ford, which was once Village Ford in the 90s and early 00s, was where I saw gold emblem mustangs.

I remember on older forums back in the day, some New Edge Mustangs showing up with owners claiming they had a rare “Black Widow” edition. Apparently a dealer was adding those horrific looking black widow body kits, and selling them as their own special edition.

The aftermarket definitely had gold emblems and grill ponys available in the late 90s and 00s.
