Long story short my 2v stock gt motor was on its way out soo i decided to pull it out and replace it.. I wanted to do the 99 up 2v but could not find a good deal on one $800 and up.. So i picked up this 98 Mark8 4v motor for $600 shipped.. I went with the 97-98 mark8 motor so i could use the intake manifold and keep things cheap(cobra manifold and throttle cable run around $500 after its said and done)
The parts i have so far are
-complete 98 mark 8 engine
-96-98 cobra exhuast manifolds(with gaskets)
- King cobra clutch kit
Parts i still need/ im unsure about
Stock gt motor mount (mine is trashed)
oil pickup tube (not sure if i can use my 2v one or if i need a 4v, ive heard mix reviews
I also need to epoxy my IMRC since im deleting them
Ive taken the intake manfiold off the new 4v and took apart the IMRC.. from the looks of the motors and butterflys the car rarely seen 3k and up.. The goal is to keep the swap under $1000.. so far im up to $800 wtih the new clutch (old one didnt look very good)
here is some pics, if anyone has any advise or needs any info feel free to post..
Out with the 2v (left the trani in hoping i can get the new motor in that way, if not i will have to slide it out )
