Ok I got a new job That I will be make good money So in the near future I'm going with aluminum heads I have a few in made.
Lets start with this I accidently brought a summit rebuild kit that has 4.030 piston not change my stock cylinder Bore. So I'm going to the machine shop to get it bored over .030 this setup now. Motor is out of Car.

Setup now:
Summit racing engine rebuild kit
Summit H-pipe
BBK CAI
Explorer upper & ported Lower intake manifold
H-pipe/Mac Catback
Short throw
King Cobra Clutch
E303 Cam
Ported E7TE head
13*timing
Smog pump/AC delete
Rear interior to trunk deleted
17x9 Cobra Rims

Near future setup:
Trick flow wedge or Patriot performance or edelbrock or Just save for a Vortech
Maybe get heads than save for a 04 Cobra down payment.
Moser 31 spline, 3:73 gears, with Nitto Drag radials
Throttle Body, MAF, 1.6 roller Rockers.

Should be in low 12's with this Setup

if i were in your shoes, i would get the trickflows, they are supposed to actualy have more potential than afrs becuases they have alot more room for porting. i would shy away from the patriots, from the stuff iv read about and from what people have been saying on other forms, they are a craps shoot as to if they will work or not. just my 2cents.

For the price, i'd go trick flows. i got mine used but they are not too expensive used.

I have TFS Twisted Wedge Track Heat Street/Strip heads; 61cc chambers, 2.02/1.6 valves, 265 cfm.

i went to these from gt40's and it was a huge difference.

Well what do you want to do? GT40 irons are great street heads and can get you into the 12s easy. Any aluminum head is also going to get you a nice bump in power although the TFS and AFRs are the best. I went with Edels due to budget constraints but even with them I know I'll be able to hit the 300-320whp mark without a problem.

So what are your goals for this car and is it going to be a street car or a track car? TFS and AFRs are the best out of the pack of Aluminums. RHS and Edels are the next teir down but still great. The GT40 stuff is after that and I would not waste money on GT40 aluminums but the irons are an amazing bang for the buck head. The Patriots are cheap Chinese copies and I would stay away.

And really what you WANT is a properly matched combo with all the parts working in unison. You can slap together something that makes 350whp but has a ****ty powerband and you have a hard time getting consistantly into the 12s. Or you can have a car that is matched perfectly, makes great average power across the board and runs 11s. Bob Cosby had an 88 GT that made 286whp and ran 11.90s all day.

So let us know what your budget and goals are and we can go from there. If you want advice from a professional get ahold of Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction or Jay Allen at Camshaft Innovations and they'll set you up.

I don't have a budget yet but my goal is to stay up with my friends 99 ls1 trans am. But I want it to be nasty street car that a weekend racer. But I would say roughly around $1000-$3000 if I want a vortech which I would love to do, but I want a 04 Cobra within a year or so. I have alot on my mind, so im confused.

If you're gonna get a Terminator just leave this thing as is and put the money towards that. If you're really serious about the 03/04 car then this would just be a complete waste of money.

just get gt40x heads, they will drop right in and have extra room for porting. also they flow fairly well and youll get an additional 30 hp. i love these heads i have them and i wouldnt do anything other than port them slightly

Doh, just realized the motor is out of the car... Um honestly I'd throw it back together and sell it as a nice clean stock stang with a few mods. Like I said if you're serious about the Terminator save ALL the money you'd spend on this(except what you need to get it back together obviously) and put it towards what you really want. Besides we all know the ridiculous mod potential of the 03/04 cars. Exhaust, a chip and a pulley gets you like 425 to the wheels.

Your right I was thinking in the way you are. If the money flowing good throughout the period I'm working Than I will get more serious, that I know I can afford it. Right now it more of a dream then reality. I the potential that the 03/04 have is mind blowing thats why I'm looking forward to getting one. But I more than like throw some heads on it. But I have drive the car more than six months after I got it. So to sale it would be that easy to me.

If you going to try and beat a ls1 car, heads cam and a intake are a must if you are doing it n/a. Then you have to worry about how much bolt ons that the ls1 car has. Generally speaking ls1 cars with full bolts on put about 350hp to the tires.

Sounds like I need to get a Cobra, Cause my friend talks about putting bolt-ons on his trans am give them cars a pretty good gain of power. Compared to 5.0's. I hear Bolt-ons on a Cobra are pretty good or better than ls1's. I would put heads on my 5.0 to make it faster for now.

Not trying to be an ass but it really sounds like you need to sit down and do a bunch of research. Going by what you hear from people without figuring it all out for yourself is a BAD IDEA.

I do enough research, Can't compare research between me n u cause I don't know if you do enough research. a ls1 almost in the 11's with bolt-ons, gears, drag radials and a bit of tuning. Sounds pretty good to me. Every mod my friend did I was there to see the difference. anything else.
