Now you all know that non of this used to happen until the Ricers started popping up in the 90's.
When I was in High School in the late 80's/ early 90's Imports were not big and most of the cops drove muscle cars too.
Once the Honda Fart Can Generation starting racing around like fools the crackdown and ticket writing spree started.

Nope. Lights should light things up. Tinting them is fundamentally counterproductive to their core functionality. Putting axle grease on your tires would be similarly genius. They'd be all nice and shiny, but not workie so good.

so what about tinted windows then? Windows are made to be looked through so adding something that would take away from that function would also be counterproductive and would also fall in yer purse of dicks. Why do you carry that around?

yeah but tint on windows serves a function, to protect my young daughter's eyes, to allow me to drive safer, and to control UV sun damage to my skin. other than that its an appearance mod.
if you're going to modify something like your lights you shouldnt be complaining about tickets afterwards, ESPECIALLY when you know its illegal when you do it.
around here if the headlights still shine off the reflectors in your tails its legal, the headlights cannot be tinted at all i dont think, but all of it is up to the officer and if you're polite and respectful they always let you go with a warning.

not trying to make you feel bad but I got pulled over two weeks ago this friday and I had an out of date insurance card, was going 57 in a 40 and have no front plate (law in my state). I got let go with just warnings. The cop was cool but Id put money on the fact that your much younger then me.
I have a friend who owns a tint shop, if you have it done by professionals you will get a certificate saying its legal and even if you get pulled over for it with that it shows its within the state limits. When I first bought my Cobra I brought it back up here from FL and I took it to his shop b/c the tint was way over the legal limit for our state.

No, i'm with you on this one paul. makes no sense to me either. it doesn'y look good anyway, IMO. I like the contrast of the head and tails.

your right im 16. the legal tint limit in iowa is 70% and my windows are 15% so even if i got something that said my windows are 70 they wouldnt believe meVenom351R said:

While I agree the tinted tails look better, the tinted horozontals look even better yet......
We do alot of stupid things to our cars in teh name of looks or performance. Lowering them till they scrap on bumps and such, taking the cats out for more performance, or some guys I guess make a spot to hold their bag of dicks........

If you have a certificate from the tint shop saying its in the legal limits they have to believe you. They cant disregard a document stating what your tint is at with it being in the legal limits.

I got pulled over the other night too. Except when the State Trooper pulled up behind me, saw it was me, pulled next to me and said have a nice night and then left. Oh yeah.

I think its all in how you present your self to the cop in regards to if you get a ticket or not. And dont go rummaging through your glove box looking for all your info before he gets up to your window. The last thing cops want to see is you going through your glove box to pull out god knows what
