I went to vatozone today to get the orings but they only had 2 assortments and they sucked. So then I go down the street to oriely's and when I ask where their orings are I got "Year/make/model?". I told him I was probably just looking for an assortment as I doubt he will find these specific ones in his computer. He repeated "Year/make/model?". So after answering his question and telling him the part I am holding is the heater cross over pipe and standing next to him watching him at one point do a search for P-ring I realized I should wait till monday to go to napa... About that time someone that knew what an oring was helped him and me out with a kit. I have not tried them yet, its an AC oring kit as well which makes me wonder if it would be ok still in the cooling system.

I also decided to take the swivel nut apart this evening. The O-rings were intact but I have no idea about their condition other than them being dirty but I will replace them and put everything back together and respray it.

If you do use your thermostat housing
Make sure you have the clearance temp sencor to thermostat
I do remember the old housings had that kind of room
RAU03MACH, Can you tell a newbie exactly which years of Mustang production this crossover pipe design was used? I cannot locate any reference for a heater crossover pipe for my 1996 GT. I am only saying that as of this moment I have failed to locate said information...thank you for sharing your experience!

Your car being a 4.6L, will not have this style of crossover pipe. One of your heater hoses goes to the intake, the other one goes to the back of the water pump in the valley of the engine.

I got the o rings installed and lubed up and it slid back together nice and tight. I have a tool i am going to cut/modify to help flare the end but after that, a quick run of my wire wheel down it and a coat of paint and it should be good to go. I found an automotive battery terminal cleaner was perfect for cleaning the outside of the oring area and the inside of the nut that goes over it if anyone is doing their own.

Those only fit 94 95 gt 5.0
And there is another version 88 to 93 fox
That will not fit 95 gt 5.0 or a 96 to 04 4.6 gt

Here is the elbow and hose installed before I put the rest of the upper intake back on. I’ll slap some better pictures on tonight. The temp sensor relocated to the thermostat housing with no issues.
