So Im still having this studdering problem with my car..when I start it up, it runs fine..after a min or two though if I go and drive it itll feel like its misfiring. I give it gas and it just honestly feels like its running out of fuel. However if I get off the gas then back into it it stops..
Today I changed..
Fuel Filter
Ignition coil
Spark plug wires
(Plugs are good)
And made sure fuel pressure is at 42 off vacuum. It has a BBK fuel pressure regulator..is it possible that is just bad?
Also what makes no sense is we noticed my TPS sensor was unplugged but its still running the same as it was before. We noticed that the black wire going into the throttlebody area is frayed pretty good..so I'm gonna change that in the next few days.
Does my car need bigger injectors? (mods in sig) It has stock 19# on it now. Im running out of ideas as to why its doing this..

I dont think its the fuel pump..it seems to be getting good pressure. Idk. Im running out of ideas.

Man this is all nickle and diming..ugh. Wish there was a way I could just KNOW what was wrong instead of guessing and replacing parts here and there.

Does it sound like I just need bigger injectors or something?

Swap the TFI module if you have an extra... I wonder if that is it.

Also, did it start shuddering suddenly, or over time? it could be many things... also, check your harmonic balancer, see if it wobbles, or if there is rubber hanging out the side of it.

Well when I first got it it ran like crap..but I knew the guy didnt knwo what he was talking about..So I got it to my buddys garage, found out three plug wires were touching the headers..plugs were bad..(He ran 87 octane..etc)..So we adjusted the timing to 16 advanced, changed plugs and wires, and messed with the fuel pressure. However we didnt have a gauge for the fuel pressure, so we guess until it ran good..we later found out it was at 65 psi of pressure. But when putting it at 42 off vaccum it doesnt run good. But now it wont run right at 65 psi. Haha it makes no sense..Im gonna replace that TPS sensor since the ground wire is almost trashed..

Maybe I should try cleaning my MAF?

16 degrees of timing is too much IMO. 13-14 is about the safe max. Cleaning your MAF is going to cost around $6 so it's kind of a no brainer

lol, dont use carb cleaner... it will destroy the special coating on it. and the car is looking for 12-14, so just set it there. all the advance is taken care of in the ECU, so theres no need to set your timing that far ahead.

Maybe this issue is my spark plugs? I have a 2000 5.0 explorer motor in it..I get plugs for that motor..and they're supposed to be gapped at .56..Is that the issue? I notice the plug burns a bit hot, it burns the white core a bit..

That is how they are supposed to run. make sure you just get copper core spark plugs, 5.0L ignitions hate anything else for some reason. .056 to .059 is stock, I think.

Reset the computer. You ran the car at such a high fuel pressure for so long, that the adaptive fuel trims are very likely pulling WAY too much fuel out of the car.

Simple green? never heard that before.
They (even Walmart) sell some stuff in a can, it's called "MAF sensor cleaner".
Just spray it and let it dry for about 15 seconds and you are good to go. No need to wipe anything. You're not even supposed to physically touch the sensors.

No, your not supposed to touch the sensor, thats for sure. thats why I hose it down with a spray bottle, and rinse with hot water. never touch it, and it gets nice and clean.

and re-setting the computer is not a bad suggesition, easily done by disconnecting the battery, stepping on the brake 3 or 4 times, and putting it back together.
