I dont understand why more peeps arent making their own CAI's. For the ease of making one and the cost, I see it foolish to spend the amount of money some of these companies charge for such a simple mod. I have made one for every stang I have owned going back to 1999. I even fabbed up the one Im using now although I didnt use a piece of PVC this time but the process is still the same simple, plumbing.

95opal, i appreicate the compliments, from here on out i will make my own induction system on basically every injected car i own whether it is a mustang or not. my car idles, and over driveability has improved since installing that cai i made. i think the biggest difference is because the mass air was moved to the fenderwell

not bad man, that filter looks a little low though. i would have also put the maf in the fenderwell also

Fastgtfairlane: How did you install the factory air filter securely to the end of the intake pipe?do you have any photos of what you built put together outside of the car?

He hasn't been active in quite some time unfortunately. However, KNN sells various drop in filters designed for this sort of thing, that have a band on the back, you get them in various sizes, in this instance you would get a 3" backed cone filter.
