how do I know if my car is a GTS or plain GT or something?

hahaha... its worth more b/c of the $13k+ i've spent on it in the past 4 months. lol

I think "manual rolled windows" are a dead give-away for a GTS.

According to that article there is no way of telling if your car is a GT or GTS. "Only the driver and passenger side mirrors are powered" what other mirrors arer there? Im just saying there isnt a way of telliong because every option was available. I have aa GTS also if they are rare, mine was just upgraded lol. :lol:

Some obvious differences between a GT and a GTS are:

1. No leather wrapped steering wheel.
2. No fog lights. Fog lamp delete plates installed in those spaces.
3. The base LX Mustang seats which look like these:

IN 1995 THE GTS WAS INTRODUCED. IT WAS CALLED THIS DUE TO THE PREFERRED OPTION PACKAGE 248a. IN 1996 FORD DROP THE GTS NAME BUT KEPT THE 248a OPTION PACKAGE TIL 1998. SO IF YOU HAVE A 1996 248a IT TECHNICALLY IS A GTS WITHOUT THE DESIGNATION OR NAME. IT WILL STILL BE CONSIDERED A COLLECTIBLE. WHAT MAKES THE 95s AND 96s MORE VALUABLE THAN THE OTHER YEARS IS THAT THEY ARE THE END OF THE 5.0 AND BEGINNING OF THE 4.6. OTHER YEARS MERELY HAVE THE LOW NUMBERS AND SPECIAL PACKAGES TO GET THEM TO REVALUE. REMEMBER THE YENKO CAMARO. IT WAS BASIC NO FRILLS CAR WITH A BIG MOTOR. NOW THEY SELL UP INTO THE 7 DIGIT RANGE SO THINK ABOUT IT. 94s ARE NOT A GTS. I WISH BECAUSE I OWN ONE BUT I ALSO OWN A 1996 GTS (WHICH I DISCOVERED BECAUSE OF THE VARIOUS QUESTIONS I HAD ABOUT THE INTERIOR). THE 94 NEEDS PAINT AND THE 96 NEEDS A COMPLETE REBUILD WHICH I AM IN THE PROCESS OF RIGHT NOW. ALSO BEWARE OF THE GTS INFO AROUND RIGHT NOW. THERE ARE ACCURATE NUMBERS WHICH PUT IT AROUND THE 5000 UNIT RANGE BUT SOME SITES WILL TELL YOU ITS LIKE 1200 UNITS. ALSO BEWARE THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS OPTION DELETE PACKAGE IT ONLY DELETED EVRYTHING OPTIONAL ON A GT BUT YOU COULD GET THE V6 OPTIONS. YES, OUT OF THE BOX MANY WERE VERY FAST ESPECIALLY IF YOU OPTIONED THE 3.27 GEARS. I HAVE HEARD FORD ALSO OPTIONED 3.73 GEARS BUT HAVE NEVER FOUND A MUSTANG EQUIPPED FROM THE FACTORY WITH'EM. I DROVE MY MINE 96 AFTER REPLACING THE INTAKE AND RAN LIKE A SCOULDED DOG! I NEVER COULD KEEP THE TIRES FROM LIGHTING UP AND THAT WAS ON FRESH BF Gs. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE THE SUSPENSION, EXHAUST, AND RIMS BY THE TIME I SAW THE CAR WERE WORTH MORE THAN THE CAR NOW I THINK OTHERWISE AND AM RESTORING IT BACK TO WHAT IT WAS ORGINALLY EXCEPT I MAY CLEANUP THE ENGINE BAY A BIT AND THROW ON 10.5 OUT BACK TO FILL OUT THE REAR.

I THOUGHT THAT ALL 96' HAD A 4.6 ENGINE. I HAVE A 97' 248A CAR......... NO WING, NO POWER ANYTHING EXCEPT MIRRORS, BASIC V6 INTERIOR, AND IT HAD 16" WAFFLE STARS WHEN I GOT IT, AND DOES HAVE MUSTANG GT EMBOSSED ON REAR BUMPER.
