As bad as I hate it, I think the time has come for me to sell my Cobra, it just isn't practical for my driving. Long story, but I think it is best this way. I by no means have to sell, so I'm not giving it away. I want to put it out on the market, and if someone comes by that wants it, they can have it. Otherwise, I'll keep it. I'm know what I'd like to have out of it, but I'm more concerned with what you guys think I could get for it.
1996 Mystic Cobra #1219, 127k miles
H&R sports, Bilsteins
MM c/c plates
King Cobra clutch
FRPP 3.73's
MGW Shifter
80mm Pro-M mass air meter
9mm FRPP wires
Mac underdrive pullies
Flowmasters
Mac o/r H-pipe
Sunroof
S.S. bumper inserts
03 Cobra Console Swap
Envoy Fog Light Mod
BOI Smoked Headlights

I'm doing a full tune up the end of this week. This past summer I had the hood, side skirts, front and rear bumpers repainted. The bumpers had clear coat peeling, hood had a few rock chips, and side skirts were scratched from getting in/out of the car. All those are in near perfect shape. There are a few small scratches, dings, etc which is to be expected with the age/miles. It has 245/45/17 Nitto 555's, probably 60% tread. No mechanical problems at all. I have a CEL on because the car does not have cats. Here are a few pics.

Worth nothing. However 95 multi-color GT's are worth millions or so I'm told. I'll trade you if you'll throw in a couple hundred.

haha, no idea. Hope you don't end up selling it, that's a nice car

I hope you don't get rid of it! That is a very special Mustang you have! I have no idea what they are worth though! I'm hoping you keep it!

I'd love to guys, but it just isn't worth it. I'm not selling because I want to, more because I have to. I'll try to be brief. I'm 19, full time college student. The car is my daily driver. I live on campus, about 45 minutes from my house. The car sits outside in the weather. We usually get a few hail storms each year, that would really be an expensive fix with the Mystic. We got an ice storm (usually get 2-3 ice/snow storms a year) this week, absolutely no way I would have made it home (had no choice, had to be out of the dorms) had the storm hit 3 hours sooner. It'd be horrible to slide off the road in the Mystic. Expensive fix. Since I made it home before the storm, I was able to borrow my dad's truck and leave the car parked. However, next time I might no be so lucky. My driveway is 1/4 mile long, gravel road, and 2 cattle guards. I almost always scrape the exhaust going up my driveway. Also, every time I wash it I find a new scratch, ding, etc. It's impossible to have a nice car that is your dd. Stuff happens, gotta deal with it. I know if I continue to use the car as a dd, it won't be worth anything in another couple of years. I really need a truck with more room. I'm looking at a 01-04 Toyota Tacoma double cab, something that should serve my needs perfectly, although it may not be exactly what I want. I'm paying for the vehicles and insurance, no way possible I can afford to keep the Cobra and buy a new dd. I also couldn't afford insurance on two vehicles. I'm only able to afford liability on the Cobra, so any repairs such as hail damage or sliding off the road would have to be paid for out of pocket. Sorry for the long story, but maybe it explains why I must sell.

with the economy how it is, the performance car market isn't in great shape...i remember when your brother had the car, i think he was selling it for $7500 or 8500 if i remember correctly. Don't expect to get much more than that. and that would be if you have awhile to wait to find the right buyer. I bought my Mystic almost a year and a half ago, for $6100 with more mods, but with some paint flaws, and with 122,000 miles. But the guy i bought it from was in a rush to sell it because he was moving.

But, if you ever decide to flutter around the $6000-6500 range, let me be the first to know and i'll make the drive to snatch her up. :)

id say in mint conditions and real low miles(0- 25k) 13k... and about 8-10k in good shape and low miles(45-74k) and 5 in rough shape and low miles(75-100k).. is what i have seen em go for.. and if it is really rough 1500... lmao

When my brother was selling the car it needed some work which scared away buyers IMO. The bumpers were pretty bad, people don't like the idea of having to repaint a Mystic. I feel doing that alone should help me a lot. I've got it listed at $9k, I'm in no rush to sale, and I'll definitely negotiate from there.

I feel you there. I got a long driveway too and we need gravel bad, its a mud pit. And I DO scrape my exhaust going over out bridge, it sucks. I can completely understand your concern. Can you afford to just buy another car? Take insurance off the Mystic and store it until your conditions change. I don't tihnk I'd ever get rid of a mystic unless I just had to.

I've only seen one 96 Mystic in the wild in person and it looked terrible. It was peeling on both bumpers and was pretty dirty. As has already been said, if the right person comes along, you might get what you're asking, but somewhere around 6 to 7 thousand is more likely.

On a related note, I saw an 04 Mystichrome convertible for sale in a local mall over the weekend. No idea how much the guy was asking, but it was super clean.

ive seen sn95 gt's 1994-1998 go for $3,000-$8,000 and sn95 cobras ive seen go for around $5,000-$10,000 but being u have a rare mystic 96, ive sene them go anywhere from$6,000-$13,000, highe mileag around $8,000 for yours prob, if it was under 100k prob 10-13k for one easy. depends on conidtion miles / mods. a modded one mint would deff catch more coin for stock 10k an under prob but modded ones catch like 10-13k. but in this ecnomy / mareket people are not getting what they expect.

That all sounds about right. I'm waiting on a call, think I may have a buyer. I'm sticking with $9k, but I definitely don't expect to get that out of it, gotta start somewhere, and it's easier to lower price than to raise. Thanks.
