Awesome! Thanks for doing this writeup. Now I can see why it would have been hard/impossible to do this in the car...

This should definitely be stickied.

I think we should leave it in the 2V section for a little while then move it to the How To's what do you think?

Nice job by the way!

Nice write-up Duffy.
Next time I see you we should put the cam back in one of the heads and have someone take pics so you can do a step-by-step.
And don't worry about the spring compressor tool, I won't need it for a while.

You think the ford spring tool is a must? I wonder if any style spring compressor will work.

I havent seen the ford, the one i used was just a Head On Car tool it was an aftermarket make. Pain in the butt at times when it would slip off but it worked well. I used head OFF car one after to put a missing keeper back in, and that worked really well.

I bought one from autozone and it worked great.

BTW a magnet works awesome in getting the keepers off....and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't drop a keeper into the oil passages...trust me it took freakin 2 weeks to get that thing out of there.

yea thats why in the pictures you can see the red rag by the spring to keep it if the keepers fell or rolled off
