how wide of a tire on 95 GT?

For the Front I have bfg Gforce sports in a 255/40/17 on a 9 inch rim and they are perfect. They seem to rub a little sometimes but its better than 245 and its cheaper than going 265. As for the rears like others said you might need to roll the fender depending on how wide you do go. I would ditch the quads and do what ryclef said. Wheelhop? lol. When I got my new rims and tires I had to zip tie my tail pipe toward my gas tank so it would even let me put my tire on.

Also keep in mind that some tire's run a little wider/thinner then other brands with the same advertised size. For example: a BFG 315 is much wider then a Nitto 315. A Nitto 315 is more like a 275. All in all a 295 or 305 wide tire in the back would be playing it safe and still fill out the wheel nicely.

This is confusing. I thought the first number represents the width of the tire. So a 315 is 315 mm wide. How can one 315 tire be wider or narrower than another 315? I'm getting 315/35 Nitto's for my '95 GT (not lowered). Reversing the quads or reomoving them is probable but I sure hope I don't have to move the pail pipes.

from what i have heard all nittos run smaller if you want a true 315 i have heard that bfg makes a pretty aucurate one

I hope so as I'm sure I'll have issues with the quads, and maybe the e-brake bracket and exhaust.

I have 3 inch tips mac exhaust and run 315s on 10.5 deep dish bullits no rubbing i have yet to drop yet tho..

yeah and the spacing better i know with my tri-bar and 255's theres not a ton of clearnace from that quad shock but the dd bring the wheel out not in so i dont think you will have a ton of problems

I cannot fit anything larger than 285's in my rear because of the quad shocks and the fact that nitto doesnt make a 295+ for 17" rim size...

Nitto makes a 315/35-17 drag radial.
