Input? Shaved scoops and keyhole

i like the shaved keyhole. but instead of shaving the scoop, just get bullitt side scoop deletes like Grave's car in the second pic

I saw a kit a few years back for a cobra brake cooling system that used the ducts but I am not sure if it was a ford part. It was basically a tube that just directed air back but it looked interesting when I saw it.

unless you drive your car on the track, there is no reason to have brake cooling ducts. it can actually keep your brake pads from reaching their optimum operating temperature.

On the Bullitt I think that shaving the key hole and scoop looks excellent. I'd almost be willing to trade my car for a Bullitt just to do that. On a GT or other Mustang it may look a little out of place unless you take off the wing and shave the emblems.


Yeah putting on the ducting to make the '94/'95 side scoops fully~functional isn't a good idea for everyday. As stated above it can prevent you from getting your brake pads up to optimum operating temperature. Although if I was going to Road America (my local track :headbang I'd rig up something to make the scoops full functional (and probably something for the front brakes also as I have seen cars pull off with the brake pads smoking like something out of a Cheech and Chong movie).

I would do the handles but that is a ton more expense and I dont so much like the idea of having to have a pull handle when the battery goes dead. I think the scoops are kinda stupid anyway because they dont do anything and to me they just look like some stuck on plastic crap. The sn95's are at least part of the body, not so much on new edges...

you don't necessarily have to have a "pull handle".

my plan is to leave the key hole in the trunk. and i dont want subs. so if my batt. ever did die. I could just open the trunk with the key hole and crawl through. i think the shaved door handles will accent our cars very well.

Do the rear seats open from the trunk though? I dont think they do?

they open from the trunk, there are little straps that you can pull similar to the ones that are in the interior

I don't think normal street pads have an "operating temp." that's a race pad thing that they have to be hot to work better, street pads aren't like that.

i have spoken a few times with the suspension moderator on another mustang forum that i am a regular on, he road races his V6 track car in SCCA events.

this is a qoute from his thread where he installed brake ducts for his race car. another member asked him about what materials he used so he could do the same to his daily driver. this was his response:

Just for the record you probably should not use these on a street car as your brakes will never stay in operating temperature and could adversely affect your braking distances.

and another from a thread where a member asked why most people plug their brake ducts while driving on the street

The problem with having them open is that is keeps the rotors and pads way below operating temps, especially if you are running anything more agressive than OEM

Why... if your batt died you arent going anywhere.

Why... if your batt died you arent going anywhere.
