I pulled it from the top initially with the stock manifolds. Now it’s going back in with the trans and BBK LT headers. Dropping the K member is not an option but I read it’s possible to drop it if you remove the steering shaft. I do have a load leveler for my hoist. So… can this be done?

Yes, it can be done. I’ve don’t it with a t45 and bbk long tubes. Steering shaft out, and prepare to fight with the headers on the passenger side frame rail. Just be patient and methodical, it’ll go in.

I may be wrong but I’ve heard if you lower it in with driver side header on you can then bolt the passenger one up and then go down the rest of the way. Again not sure if that’s true. I’ve thought about attempting it, but with my car having an auto trans its unrealistic. So when I decide to do mine I’ll knock 2 birds with 1 stone and slap a tubular k member as well
