I am about halfway through installing my MM HD lower control arms and I am planning to ditch the quad shocks.

Anyone have any issues doing this?

The car had KYB shocks and the quad shocks have rubbed all of the paint off the shock body. No wonder the rear of my car rattles...

I'm putting on some new Tokico blue's and don't want them messed up from the quads.

My project is on hold right now because I need to order some new poly isolators for the rear springs, the old ones are shot

I appreciate your Thoughts.

Thanks guys. I'm going to remove the quads and see how it goes. I'm looking forward to driving it with the new control arms and shocks.

I finished installing My control arms and shocks today. I removed the quads and don't notice any difference.

I don't get any wheel hop when spinning the tires and the rear end feels alot more solid.

I have slowly been replacing and upgrading the drivetrain and chassis so that when I add power the car can handle it.

So far I have done subframe connectors, strut tower brace, Springs, CC plates, control arms, Clutch and flywheel, Aluminum driveshaft and rear shocks.

Next up will be 3.73 gears, front stuts, rack bushings, bigger brakes and soon I will install the PI cams and manifold I have in the garage and start adding power.

It never ends...

Those are some good mods. I just added upper and lower control arms to my car, as well as subframe connectors and i am happy with it. I wanna do a eibach sway bar kit.. my car has no rear sway bar?!? and some new rear shocks..

So if I upgrade shocks.. but not Control Arms.. Can I remove the quad shocks to get them out of the way and all? Will it hurt any performance, handling wise?

it will give you more axle deflection if you keep the stock arm/bushing.
upgrading the lower control arms is a good starting point for a rear suspension upgrade.

^ dont really wanna upgrade them right yet... have other things i need to buy and i think it takes me out of the class ill be in for Auto-X

So just questioning if the quad shock removal will hurt any handling.. Ill have new springs/shocks&struts and have bigger sway bars.. and hopefully will have SFCs by the summertime...

If you can't change the lowers, see if you can modify the stock pieces and have them welded/boxed. I've been told it helps, but cant say for myself

With my stock control arms the axle moved enough that the quads rubbed the paint off the Kyb's on both sides.

If you are going to keep the stock control arms I would at least upgrade the bushings. My stock bushings were torn and falling apart.
