the accelerants used in the sprays is often bad for glues but that vinyl on the upper door is just falling off now. I didn't care as I was recovering them as well but not many people do that.

I took my last for from black/porno red to all black.

Hey cool! I didnt know you were on here. You remember me from 3.8 right?

a Year maybe two from now when the paint starts coming off your going to wish you never did it. Just sayin...

Hes right, first things to go will be the door sills, the armrest, and the steering wheel. Its one thing to freshen up an interior. Its another to do a complete color change. Not saying dont do it, but be advised that this probably will happen.

I just redyed my interior. I got color matching SEM dye from 5.0resto (Late Model Restoration) Of course I was shocked to discover how pink it was (I have red interior), but then I realized that pieces that weren't normally exposed to the sun matched up perfectly. I just didn't expect it to age like that in 18 years.

...anyway, the sun had bleached the color of my door cards. I couldn't source a dye that would match my red carpet exactly (just installed new carpet too) so I just picked up a $6 can of red duplicolor fabric dye. It may not match perfectly, but atleast it's red. It's so much better than it was! If you rub your hand across it, it still feels like carpet. Not stiff or anything. So you wouldn't suspect that I ever dyed it. So pick yourself up some random black fabric dye in an aerosol can, and you should be fine.

I also wanted to mention, that before I sprayed my door carpet with this, I used it on lawn furniture cushions. I was impressed!

as long as you are not aginst needing to touch them up from time to time go for it. Be sure to prep the surface well as the years of armorall and other silicon based dash cleaners if not cleaned off will teach you why you should have.

just the plastics, not sure what part of the dash that would not include its all plastic.

even with good prep, you are still painting plastic that has had years of silicon build up from cleaners/armorall. You are eventually going to have some chips, scratches, or wear spots that would not show up if the dash was a solid color rather then paint. It just can't stay pretty/perfect for ever.

oh then those will defintly chip and need touching up. I know this because the set I built to house my 4" and 1" needs to be touched up after painting them. There is a reason they are called kick panels......
