I would not do that. The proper way would be to use a vynil prep/cleaner, then a sealer primer, and lastly some color matched laquer specifically designed to paint interior panels. latemodelrestoration.com sells it all

I use SEM Landau Black and an adhesion promoter. Wiped it down clean first, and dyed it. I've had absolutely no problem with mine.

Does it have cupholders or an ashtray?
I tried painting my interior trim and it came out looking worse than the "present" my neighbors dog left on my porch this morning.
On the other hand, if it really does turn out to be dark charcoal I'd be more than happy to trade you for my OEM black one

This is exactly what I do.

Is there a place that i can go buy the vinyle prep and whatnot so that i dont have to wait for it to get shipped.
Would autozone/advance sell it? Walmart maybe?
Just hate waiting for things in the mail if i dont have to.

Also what about paint for carpet/seats?
Is there anything that will look half way decent and not come out very easy? or should i just get new carpet and seats that are black.

Just wondering?

Are you talking about for just the console? I used body prep solvent, scrubbed it and made sure its clean. You can buy adhesion promoter at any AutoZone/Pep Boys. I'm sure they have some kind of good dye too, I had ordered mine. I wouldnt dye seats or carpet, replace them!

Try to find a sherwin williams they'll have it or mix it up for you, otherwise look for a PPG dealer or SEM dealer. Last choice is Marhyde from oreilly's w/ the spray on degreaser. I always wash the parts 1st in the tub w/ palmolive if I can, they blow dry and paint. SEM is thinner and flows in the natural grain of stuff, Marhyde seems thicker and gives a nice soft vinyl look like a dash pad or soft vinyl door panel, but doesn't resist wear and tear like the sem.
