Okay I may be getting some new seats for my Cobra! and you guessed! they Cobra seats and are black with grey suede centers. I have the dreaded black/peanut butter interior :confused1:

my question is has anyone here painted/dyed their peanut butter interior plastics black with good results and if so can you post pics and tell me what you used! I bought a can of the colormatch plastic paint from latemodel resto and painted my center console which was tan and it matches my peanut butter interior perfectly. I am just hoping to have the same results going to an all black interior!

Input appreciated...

I know a couple people who have used the 5.0 Resto/LMR product and achieved a factory looking result. It's really not that hard to do and the colors match up well.

I assume these are 03/04 Cobra seats? If so, then your primary concern needs to be color matching. The 94-98 black interior is significantly different from the 99-04 dark charcoal interior. If you mix and match, it will be very noticeable. If it was me, I'd do up the entire interior to be dark charcoal so everything would match.

I've done the swap, my interior wasnt even two tone, it was ALL peanut butter! I chose to replace the parts. I like original OEM parts as they were suppose to be. I dyed the dash, and console because I had no other option, but all other parts are original. If youre going to dye your parts, its all in the prep work. I've dyed parts before, and had no problem with it. Even my dash is holding up great. I used SEM Landau Black, its what I had for some of my Monte Carlo parts, and it matches the Mustang just fine.

+1 for Sem Landau black if your going to match a black interior, I want to know what color matches the charcoal though.
