well some good starters for someone on a budget would be exhaust, short throw shifter, cold air intake, even wheels. i know when i was that age that was the stuff all my buddies and i could afford. if you have a little bit bigger budget you can go with cam, head working, intake etc etc. good luck and enjoy that new ride :thumb:

thank you right now i have about 3500 to work with. I am getting a new job starting this summer. So i will have money coming in. Good thing is that my parents promised me that as long as i don't wreck or get a ticket they pay gas and insurance.

i was thinking something like eibach pro-suspension kit. With 03 cobra wheels 17x9 in front 17x10.5 in back. but i don't really know what good size tires will go with them.

Some 3.73's will really wake that thing up. That is a good bang for the buck mod imo, plus you can have someone install them for you and it wont set you back too much. I would also put any h or x pipe of your prefrence on there that will help it flow alot better. If you don't have emissions test in you area you can go with an o/r h or x pipe.

Yeah in South Carolina we don't have emissions tests so i would go with o/r pipes. And I'm looking at some 3.73s from american muscle, as well as a exhaust from there. Do you guys recommend any specific headers other than that I'm pretty comfortable with what i am choosing.

++1 on the gears. Best seat of the pants result for the money. If your not planning on cracking the seal of the valve covers then all you can focus on is increasing the air flow into and out of the engine. In simple terms an engine is an air pump. More efficient flow in and out increases power, so focus on that. Have fun with your new toy :)

alright guys thanks for all the help. I think i have everything that i need now to get started, besides the color I'm going to paint it because it is extremely faded and gone in some places on the car. I would just need to buy paint, primer, and the clearcoat. My dad has a friend who has painted for years for fun and is willing to do it for free. Any color recommendations and sites?

That sucks about your dad's mustang. My dad had one til my sister was born. Could you give me any sites that may be helpful to finding good color choices?

I will post before and after pics when we paint it. I also don't have a camera available to me. I will try to borrow my friends sometime this week.

Except for the money and the 17yr old part you sound like I did lol

Bought a 95GT. First thing I did was paint it then bought rims and smoked headlights. Next was the catback and X pipe is in the mail now. Prokit has been sitting here for about a month waiting on motivation :hammer: Next things I will do are gears and intake.

Congrats on the car and enjoy it :thumb:
