if you think you have a leak. Just buy a can that has the freon and stop leak in it.

I was throwing some terms into google and some people say that the stop leak messes up the A/C system from the inside.

any comments on this?

if you continuously use the stop leak as a solution to a large problem you will lock up the compressor. if you use the stop leak recharge kit 1 time and only use 1/2 of that can you'll be ok.
If you break the seal on the unit you will need to replace the drier and the orifice tube(like a small filter) and take it somewhere so they can pull a vacuum and recharge it.
does the compressor seem to run a lot does it cycle on and off a lot?
if it was mine i'd buy the refill w/ the dye in it so you can find the leak and replace that hose/fitting, etc. AC stuff is extremely easy to work on but its just as easy to f-it up.

You need the gauge cause it needs to be at a certain PSI....

Try recharging it with a can before wasting time anywhere else.

It depends. As long as your ac is running when you plug the guage in it should give you a reading.

Just did this a few days ago on my girlfriends truck. Extremely easy. We however just bought the part store brand cans, same amount for half the price, and I already had the hoses but they had those for sale as well. However, if you all are scared of store brands, thats your own deal ha

If you have time? Its seriously 5-10 mins top, depending on how long it takes you to get your hood up.

Go do it, do it now.

well, i went outside to try and recharge the system but i am unsure how hard to push this snap connector onto the Low Side Pressure Fitting. I am guessing the pin inside the coupler on Charge can needs to push the ball down on the Low side pressure fitting am i correct?

i just dont wanna break the damn thing.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it but I believe when you charge the AC the engine should be running with the control set to MAX A/C.
