Let's Talk About Sub-Frame Connectors...

It was suggested I look into sub-frame connectors to stiffen up my vert. I see several places where it says 98 vert's will need modification to install most ready made SN95 SFC's. It's also appears that they are just heavy gauge square tubing with tabs for the seat bolts...has anyone made there own? I have a the tools/welder to fab them if they are not too involved...not really interested in fabricating something complex when I can buy it pre-made fairly inexpensively. Thoughts and advice on the subject appreciated.

Good info as always guys...keep it coming. I have a MIG welder, acetylene torch, 14" metal cutoff saw and other goodies in my garage, so I think I can handle making my own...I just need some good photos or diagrams of how and where to attach them.

Just make sure all tires are under load and on even ground

Got it. I've read that several places and understand the car needs to be under load or you risk welding it in a "flexed" position which could really suck, LOL!

you can tell a good weld by looking at it..if someone didn't do a good job you'd be able to tell.....not like paying someone to do an oil change and you not actually knowing how much of what oil they put in..now what i mean?

Gotchaa. The exhaust shop did a good job putting the new mufflers on and welding them. They also did 3 other cars from my family. Maybe they'd be able to do it. I'll have to ask them when I get my cutouts installed

I feel ya problem, I've been wanting subframe connectors installed in my car for the longest time, but don't know where it would be best to have them installed. Not too sure I'd want it done at a muffler shop.

whatever you choose, I suggest having a frame shop install them. they have the equipment to square up your frame before they start welding.
