I have seen a couple of cars that have lights in the mirrors so that at night it just sends a small amount of light down onto the consol area. Makes things much easier to see while not blinding you at the same time. I would like to add this option to my 94 gt and was wondering if anyone can confirm if the convertables mirrors have lights in them or do this already? Also curious if anyone knows of a car that has the power dimming option as well?

Yes, convertibles have map lights, dont think they are what you want though since they are made to be the only interior illumination in a vert. Think you would be better off adding a couple LEDS to a standard mirror (always planned to do this to my last car with blue leds and never got around to it)

I have been considering that as well. My dads prius has a single led in the overhead consol that does the job well too.

Exactly, I saw it in a new Accord which was what gave me the idea to begin with

I still have me OEM mirror in my garage cabinet if you wanted me to pull it out and give you any info off of it though

my G35 has that as well. you got that fancy schmancy overhaed console now, just drill a small hole and put a light in it.

I thought about that as well just not sure I want to pack more stuff into it. The mirror is right there and I already have power ran up too it is the only reason I thought about it. The dimming feature is nice as well...

You can always take the '13 mirrors, dissemble them and remove the projector yourself and just fabricate it into your OEM mirror

Right I can see why when I say I want the light to shine down onto my consol that the first mirror you think of is the side views.... :)

there was a seller on there that said he would make custom designs for them. I emailed him but have not heard back yet. I really don't think it will look that good shining on carpet though.

didn't someone buy one of the shadow-box/led lights? Curious how that came out.

I remembered this post last night when I realized that the air ride display light has just the right amount of light on the consol area the way I wanted. It is just bright enough to see everything below it but not so bright that it looks like I am taping some tv show in the car.
