Im about to lower my car and the rear is very high and the springs that i got isnt gonna put it they way i want it so im gonna cut em a bit.My question is how many coils are you able to cut w/o F***ing up the spring?Which im not gonna cut a lot i just wanna know whats the limit.

And for all you people who hate on cutting springs, keep it to urself.I know cutting springs isnt a good thing to do.

Thanks.

Usually a coil is all people will cut. If it's the front you are cutting, you have to cut from the bottom, where the pig tail is. Rear has to be flattened once you cut that one. Some people also recommend removing isolators to get a little more drop out of the car.

Rear springs are flat on top and bottom. If you want the spring to sit properly, you will have to flatten with a blowtorch and hammer once you cut a coil off. I really don't like the idea of cutting the rear springs though, because it increases diameter in it's length, so there is a chance that the coil might be too large to sit on the perch.

Cobra 99-04 Cobras have independent rear suspension. The rear springs are completely different.

Also, better too cut too little than too much. I would start off with maybe 1/4 to 1/2 or so then see how you like it. I cut my Pro-Kit in the front by a 1/2 coil + about an inch and I am glad I did not go any further its perfect for me. 255/40/17 have about inch gap between the fender and tire.
