The other day i was replacing my fuel pump and when i finish i went to put my passanger side back wheel on and when i had it on i pushed and pulled on the wheel and i noticed that the wheel along with the hub will move in and out a little, cant really say how much but it was noticeable and it was solid , like if i pushed out on the wheel and would stay there . This has me a bit worried, is this play normal ? I have always been hearing a bit of noise coming from the backend while the car is rolling , it sounds like a worn out part, hub bearing maybe ? Btw the sound it makes is not like typical homing sound you hear when a rear end goes bad but more like a rubbing type sound but its not to loud but its audiable.

Yes, this is completly normal and there is nothing wrong with your axles. If you knew what the inside of the rear end looked like i could explain to you why they do it. Basically the only thing that holds your axles in there are two C Clips one on each axle and they have a little in and out play where the c slip slides over the end of the axle.

What kinda noise is it? Stock Gears? How many Miles on rear?

Rear might just be worn real bad and the back lash on the gears ain't between 8-12, that will cause it to hum...
