So my newly purchased 98 gt has completely wiped motor mounts. I plan on doing them soon and heard that it can be a pain. Im just looking for anything helpful to make this a bit easier. I am a mechanic and have been working on cars for years so no stupid responses like get someone else to do it. Thanks

I just did the mounts on my '03 vert yesterday. It wasn't too bad, really- especially if you're a mechanic anyway. I used the Energy suspension kit that comes with the 2 engine mounts and the trans mount. They're very nice pieces and the fitment was excellent!

Some tips:

If it's a convertible, remove the x-brace
Remove the starter... yes, it's a PITA- but it's much more of a PITA to try and fight your way around it to get to the motor mount bolt. Just get it out of the way.
Support the engine from the oil pan with a block of wood and a jack. Be very careful to not dent the pan... don't keep jacking until the weight of the car is on the oil pan!!! You only need enough room for the studs on the mounts to clear the pads on the K member!

Enjoy! It took me about 3 hours, but I had the benefit of a drive-on lift.
