So now that i have the mufflers, i need to start figuring this out. i don't need to worry about the hangars for tailpipes cause i have dumps, but i have 3 questions.

1. where can i get a hangar for the passanger side? i didn't have one because v6...

2. remind me which way the exhaust hangers face on 98s.. these ones are horizontal.

3. wtf is this orange thing? lol

(in the picture the turndown tips are facing towards me and the flow tubes are in front for reference)

it doesn't have anywhere to bolt into the undercarriage though.. am i just being dumb, or do i need different ones?

Oh you mean the v6 is missing the hardware on the underside of your car where the passenger side muffler would go?
Probably get it from a junkyard v8??

well yes, that's one part, but the other is that the hanger on the stock muffler was just a loop with a rubber bushing in it that bolted to the undercarriage, so i'm confused

Theres actually a similar metal hanger like the one pictured on your exhaust that will hang from your car and the orange rubber piece is what has the hangers go through it.

so the rubber thing is a hanger that hangs from the hanger on the undercarriage? jesus this is getting complicated lol. wouldn't that make them sit too low?

Dont think i seen that type of hanger on the v8 exhaust. So i would assume ya its trash if your going dual exhaust.

I have rubber hangers on the metal hangers in the rear of my car, by the rear bumper for tails but you wont worry about that cause your running dumps right? I also had 2 which were mounted in hold the center of my stock Hpipe, but now I have an o/r x so those arent there. If your running dumps it seems youll just have some welded metal hangers...just get an exhaust shop lol.

Just go to an exhaust shop and tell them to weld in some new hangers. It will make your life much easier.

Or go steal a pair off a GT at a junkyard

Hmmm I guess Im not to familair with dump setups, how are you going to set yours up? I picture dumps are headers->Flowtubes->Mufflers/dumped, in essence your just skipping the midpipe right? Which would make swapping your exhaust in and out for emissions pretty hard unless you utilize that middle hanger for your stock midpipe that uses the rubber hangers...ugh so much exhaust work today my head is going to explode lol!

oh yeah duh! Sorry Ive been under my car on a lift all day! So your not rear axle dumping it, but having dumps are the rear of the car? Ok then Your headers hook up to the heads duh, h pipe is connected to the headers by two studs with washers and nuts on either side, you said you need to swap for emissions so your doing an off road H, I dont have any hangers on my Xpipe so your fine. Back of Hpipe connects to the start of your catback by 2 bolts with washer/nut. Flowtubes to mufflers are welded
then tubing goes over your rear axle where it will then have a exhaust clamp then comes your tailpipes which will have a hanger on them with the rubber piece to another hanger welded to your car. But I still feel like your mufflers are going to be bouncing around because you dont have the extra piping holding it to the car with the rear hanger. Id say get a hanger and weld a hanger to the flowtube that connects to your muffle to the car. With this you will be able to swap out your midpipe. Your OBDII so you wont have to worry about them looking under your car lol.
