My 70 dollar Heat Extractor Hood

Not to sound like a broken record but I'm a fan of the functionality/cost factor but from an aesthetic pov i'm not. Also agree that it would loook much much better if painted white :thumbsup:

Thanks to everyone who supports it. Also, to those who think that it looks odd, I'm aware that not everyone would like this. I was going for the mid 80s european Fords look. To those who said that it would look better painted, I don't think the same way. I see the vent as part of the trim, rather than part of the hood. Since the rest of the trim is all black, such as mirrors, cowl cover, and molding, I think vent looks better black as well.

Yeah, also a couple of S197 GTs. I'm pretty sure that I'm one of the first people to do it on SN95 though. If it's not functional, I might be one of the last.

Hey if it work's you spent $70 if not then all you wasted was a hood you weren't going to sell anyway, and you could alway's sell the vent....

it is for heat extraction purposes so if it work's good for him, and btw it doesnt look that bad... +1 for being creative and not being like most of us that would have bought the $500 heat extractor hood :notworthy:

I saw that done to a stock F150 hood, it looked great, his truck was black so it blended in more. Maybe if you painted the stock hood vents satin black it would tie the color of the heat extractor in more?
