I am rebuilding my 5.0! Its gonna be used on a boost setup. This is what i have put together so far, i havent done anything yet i want to get a few other ideas before i act on any thing so let me know what yall think... thanks

I have a Friend selling me his rotating assembly it has 40 over dish pistons, rods and crank... $150
Than to get my block bored, cleaned, and the rotating assembly balanced its..................... $500
Than good rings for boost about................................................................................. $200
And bearings about.................................................................................. rod bearing $ 50
Main bearings $ 70
------
$970 bucks

I feel like at is alot to be tying up! Or does it sound right?
Or should i find a Rotating assembly that uses the Stock bore and eliminate the machine shop cost? Any links or ideas would be great thanks!
I could always rebuild mine with rings and let it ride!

Save yourself the trouble and just buy an assembled shortblock. They're so inexpensive these days that building a motor (and paying for machinework) makes it almost not worth it.

yea thats what i am thinking! I think i am just gonna do a stock bottom-end rebuild
